I love me some good old fashioned corruption arcs that reveal a little too much about the character being corrupted.
Here's a little snippet~
Billy opens the door and relief pours off him in waves as he sees Arno, exhausted but alive, sitting on a bed with gold-trimmed bedsheets. His head tilts up and his hazel eyes are red-rimmed and so, so, so despondent. It's like he doesn't even see Billy standing there or perhaps he doesn't believe him to be real. "Arno?" He calls out carefully, afraid to startle him. "It took me long enough, I know." Arno's voice is raspy from disuse, "You're here." He doesn't sound relieved or hurt, or anything really. It's like his voice is a completely blank slate. "I am," Billy struggles to suppress his emotion, "Let's go home." "We can't," He speaks resolutely and stands up. For the first time Billy notices the sword in his hand. Billy tries meeting his eyes, but Arno is looking down at the floor. "What do you mean, we can't? Are you hurt?" When he attempts to come closer, Arno raises the sword up to Billy's chest, the sharp tip pointing directly at his heart. "Stay away from me," Arno spits.

Magical Boys WIP Character Introductions
Billy
he/him - 17 - suffering the consequences of horrible life decision no. 56
“Is this the moment you punch me in the face?"
There's only a one letter difference between a loner and a loser and Billy is both. Some say he used to be less closed off back in the day, but something must've happened along the way to change that.
Arno
he/him - 16 - the pretty damsel in distress
“You can wait a minute for the star of the show, right?”
Next to the definition of perfection must be a picture of Arno. He has it all: good grades, lots of friends, a girlfriend from out of town and flawlessly coiffed hair. Who wouldn't want to be just like him?
Beau
he/him - 17 - refusing the call of friendship
“You’ve got to be fucking kidding me.”
You don't want to mess with Beau if you don't want to end up with third-degree burns, verbally inflicted of course. He likes to pretend he's all tough, but hides himself under big, oversized hoodies.
Younes
he/him - 17 - a jock with a lot of heart
“I’m sure a way out will appear as we keep going.”
Ask Younes anything, and he'll do it immediately and without any questions asked, unless you've somehow managed to offend his girlfriend or his basketball team or his family, in which case, good luck in trying to get on his good side again. I've heard he's quite forgiving though.

Heads Up, Seven Up
Thanks to both @sarandipitywrites and @lordfenric-writes for tagging me. I'll be sharing some lines from my latest chapter which finally shows the story from Arno's pov (it's only been like 40k)
"My prince," Arno resists the urge to gag, "after the ball where we danced all night long," they did no such thing, "these slippers doth slipped from mine feet whilst running through the woods to hurry back home before daybreak." There's so much wrong with that sentence that Arno doesn't know where to begin. First off, Hulda's clumsy attempt at 'ye olde English' would be cuter coming from a ten year old, rather than however old she's supposed to be. Secondly, she lives in the castle, so there is no need to run home and lastly they're living in perpetual darkness. Daybreak is a distant dream. He feels the lack of vitamin D in his soul, the slow descent of his temperament an ever imminent threat on the sunless horizon.

Kiss scene commences!!
Finally, finally I'm so happy, it took 58k and 7 months (irl), but they finally kiss~
Have a little snippet:
Billy is nothing if not the catalyst for Arno's destruction and tonight doesn't end until he's ruined that perfect front beyond repair. Lightheaded, he raises his arms up to wrap around Arno's shoulders and yanks him down. Their mouths collide with a teeth-clattering force. Billy willingly parts his lips, letting Arno ruin him too.

Some incorrect quotes for my favourite boys~
Beau: You're kind of a pushover, aren't you, Billy? Billy: ... I'm sorry. Beau: See!? That's exactly what I'm talking about!
Beau: A pessimist sees a dark tunnel. Younes: An optimist sees light at the end of the tunnel. Billy: A realist sees a freight train. Arno: The train driver sees three idiots standing on the tracks.
Beau: You're pathetic! Younes: You're pathetic-er! Arno: You're both losers.
Billy: I couldn't do this without you, Arno. Arno: Sure you could. Not as stylishly, of course.
