SCRIPTURE:

“This is what the Lord of Armies, the God of Israel, says: ‘I am about to bring on this city — and on all its cities — every disaster that I spoke against it, for they have become obstinate, not obeying my words.’” ~Jeremiah 19:15

OBSERVATION:

Obstinate - stubbornly refusing to change one's opinion or chosen course of action, despite attempts to persuade one to do so: headstrong; 

There appears to be fewer synonyms for obstinate (52 was the highest number returned when Googled) -   

Headstrong,

Willful, 

Stubborn, 

Disobedient - seem to be apt descriptions of yours truly all too often...

...than antonyms (349!) -

Obedient, 

Submissive, 

Compliant, 

Agreeable, 

Willing, 

Cooperative - to list a few off the top...

So... am I:

Obstinately disobedient?

Or Willingly obedient?

I know which one SOUNDS better...

...and yet...

...and even so, once again - Jesus saves me from "every disaster" the Father should bring on me...

APPLICATION:

Submissively...

compliantly... 

agreeably... 

willingly... 

cooperatively... 

obey...

PRAYER:

Patient Father - forgive my obstinacy, my bullheaded stiff-necked disobedient willfulness... Thank You again and again for sending Jesus to save and show me how to surrender my will for Your greater will and glory... In His Name, Father, and for Your honor and worship...
