letās talk about a little thing called popularizing people and content that is problematicĀ and the effects of such a practice. how many times have we seen people with horrible morals on pedestals? youāve seen it, iāve seen it, weāve allĀ seen it. people who are trash and approve of, say, racial violence and harm against children being huge figureheads in media and in society are unfortunately more common than one may think, and it burnsĀ me to a crisp. it makes my blood boil.
the thing is, this isnāt just something i hate at a larger scale. no, no. weāre talking about smaller scale incidents, as well. people with legions of fans in smaller fandom spaces have a lot of defenders, people who will be ride or die with them. if that person is good folk and deserves protection from friends, fine, but what of the people who refuse to believeĀ āWAHHH BUT SO AND SO ISNāT A BAD PERSONā when evidence is shown of the contrary? people who are victims of awful shit perpetuated by abusive big names get tossed to the wayside so often. itās happened even in the rpc here, too. yāall might know what iām thinking of, but yeah. itās shit.
people are not infallible. the people you idolize are humans. they are capable of mistakes, some of them being passable, typical mistakes, and others being egregiously badĀ ones. donāt die on hills for these kind of people?! if someone is a racist, transphobic, homophobic piece of shit that spouts slurs, why the fuuuuck are people defending them? especially the ones who wouldnāt find this behavior excusable if it was ANYONE ELSE?? literally shut up and sit down. learn you some shit before you come back out of your rock to continue your white-knighting diatribe over legitimately harmful people.

Ā Ā Ā Ever since the Galarian Star tournament, It was safe to say that Hailey was back on her feet once again. Lots had happened that allowed her to reshape her future into one that was achievable, as opposed to becoming champion. The first step? Study Galarās cuisine, and with that, she began her food tasting tour of Galar.
Ā Ā Ā Stop number one was a no brainer;Ā Bob's Your Uncle was always delicious after all. Having her tray of food in hand, she was to make her way to the table, when her foot had bumped into a stray chair, almost sending her and her tray of food to the ground.
Ā Ā Ā Almost, that is. A grip on her arm had broken her fall, and the plates on her tray had steadied. When she heard a sentence in response, she almost immediately knew who it was. Turning her head slightly, her suspicions were confirmed.
Ā Ā Ā āGordie, Hi!ā She couldnāt help but grin at the gym leader, glad that not only her food was saved, but that he was here too. While she herself was friendly with quite a few Gym leaders, Gordie was always one she considered like a brother of sorts.

Ā Ā Ā That was until he noticed a familiar figure on the road ahead. Closing his book and returning it to his backpack, Allister jumped up to try and catch up with Gordie. Considering his petite size, traversing the crowds proved pretty easy for the ghost-type trainer and soon enough he was at Gordieās side, reaching up to grasp the otherās sleeve, not even thinking about his sudden and silent appearance. Ā Ā ā. . . G . . . Gordie?ā He looked up toward the rock-type leader with a pleading look, although all that could be seen was the faint purple glow of his eyes beneath his mask.Ā Ā Ā

Ā Ā Ā i know that a trolley is an american shopping cart, learned that one recently from a twitch streamer thatās semi-recently moved to britain with her husband. and that a biscuit is an american cookie. pants are underwear and trousers are american pants, yeah. i learned that a jumper was a sweater legit just yesterday because dreamy referred to a christmas sweater in animal crossing as a jumper. chips and crisps i knew, french fries and chips. aaaaand donāt bring an eraser to sexy time because rubber doesnāt mean condom over in dreamy land.
