yebin stares at the cereal in front of her - the cereal that is now three shelves higher up than the last time she went shopping. usually, it wouldn’t be much of a problem if an item had been moved as she’d find it eventually, but now she couldn’t reach them. this would have been an easily solved problem, fixed in under a minute, if you dared ask for help. yebin is one of the people who don’t ask for help. she just stares at the boxes of cereal and hopes one will magically fall off the shelf and into her basket. this, of course, does not happen.
“what do i do..”
maybe, just maybe, they would be back on their usual spot if she circled the aisles for a few minutes. she could skip the cereal and ask her brother to get them later, but she had already put the yoghurt in the basket. she couldn’t get only the yoghurt, it tasted funny without the crispness of the cereal, but she also couldn’t put it back. that would mean going all the way back to the dairy products and, in front of lots of people, lift something out of her basket and put it back onto a shelf. the embarrassment would stick with her for months. no, circling the aisles was probably the best decision. if she just believed hard enough, waited long enough, the problem would solve itself and she could go home with all items necessary for a happy breakfast. don’t cry now, yebin, not in front of all these people.
