A flight with the Circle of Raziel : Headcanons ✈️💫
Hi so last week I was on a plane and while I was trying to sleep without snapping my delicate neck (I failed) I wondered how the Circle would react to boarding a plane for the very first time.
Soo, here are the headcanons I came up with : Enjoy ! 🍓
Huge thanks to @serathereadaholic for "beta-reading" this !
For context :
I think they got into this mess because of Valentine, he somehow made flying part of one of his missions.
They are def traveling in business class or something. Valentine certainly wouldn't let them wander among the common folk of the mundane world.
----------SITTING PLAN---------
Row 1 : [corridor] Luke - Valentine - Jocelyn [window]
Row 2 : [corridor] Michael - Robert - Maryse [window]
Row 3 : [corridor] Amatis - Stephen - Céline [window]
Somewhere : Hodge.
As someone once said on Tumblr, the Circle is basically three love triangles + Hodge so this sitting plan just makes so much sense to me. More broadly, I think they'd naturally end up sitting like that : Valentine and Robert would both gravitate toward their girlfriends + parabatai while Céline would, quite unsurprisingly, find a way to end up next to Stephen.
Luke : He would be quite curious about the "metallic bird". Tho he keeps asking Val if it is THAT safe and why aren't they using portals or whatever. He'd be pretty nervous during takeoff, but he'd get used to it pretty quickly. Spends most of the flight reading, ocasionnaly chatting with Val and Jocelyn. Sera suggested that he'd probably be the type to long for someone's hand to hold during takeoff, but I just can't picture him holding Valentine's hand, even though I completely agree with the idea.
Jocelyn : Wouldn't be all that afraid since she trusts Val, but I can definitely picture her being a little annoyed that they have to travel this way. Val promised her an "unforgettable surprise", but she has no idea what he could be talking about...until she looks out the window. Mesmerized, she ends up spending most of the flight sketching the landscape in her notebook, only pausing every now and then to exchange few words with the boys.
Valentine : If he's not talking to Luke or wrapping an arm around Jo to look at what she's drawing, he's discreetly listening to whatever is happening in the rows behind him (because ofc he is).
Robert : He is ABSOLUTELY TERRIFIED but would rather let a werewolf bite him than admit it. Almost throws up several times but somehow manages to keep his composure. To this day, he still remembers it as one of the worst experiences of his life. (That being said, he's not as scared of flying afterwards ig. If he had to do it again today, he'd probably survive without much lasting trauma.)
Michael : As expected Michael immediately sees through Robert's armor and gets them seats in the middle of the second row (thinking it'd help Robert, although idk if it actually makes much of a difference lol). Spends basically the whole flight whispering things in Rob's ear just to keep him distracted or rather just to keep Robert's intention on his parabatai rather than on his fear. I suppose he just talks about absolutely anything as long as Rob follows along. And I would bet Michael gently traces soothing circles on Rob's arm to reassure him. Eventually, once Robert relaxes, Michael falls asleep on his shoulder.
Maryse : my unbothered queen. Shows up in full glam, wearing curlers and a silky sleeping mask. Alternates between sleeping, admiring the view and casually participates in Michael almost never-ending monologue (mostly so Rob can keep pretending everything's fine, blissfully unaware that Maryse has already noticed he's about as pale as a vampire -> Btw Robert isn't fooling anyone on that fucking plane).
Céline: My angel. Probably the most excited out of everyone (right alongside Stephen). Spends the entire flight with her nose glued to the window. Partly because she's genuinely amazed. Partly because she'd rather not watch the couple next to her being all couple-y, and she definitely doesn't want anyone noticing she's blushing at the mere thought of sitting this close to Stephen.
Stephen: Super excited. Even though he's never been on a plane before, his fascination with mundane stuff definitely has a lot to do with it. Somehow, though, he falls asleep like fifteen minutes after takeoff : he brought two neck pillows and lent one to Maryse btw. At some point he probably ends up playing games on the little screen in front of him (I know those probably didn't exist in the '80s. Just let me have this.). As Sera masterminded : He's holding both girls' hand and is doing it FOR THE LOVE OF THE FUCKING GAME. No, seriously. Amatis is unbothered by the takeoff but Stephen is just here like "lemme hold ur hand, it'sromantic 🥺" and she plays along. Whereas Céline grabs his hand out of fear (unclear if she's playing pretend tho) and he holds it as a friend before casually droping it as soon as the plane is remotely on the air.
Amatis: My girl wrapped herself in a blanket, stocked up on snacks, put on a movie, and is absolutely thriving. She and Stephen probably end up having a "special encounter" in the toilets at some point throught the flight.
Hodge: Honestly, I'm at a bit of a loss when it comes to him. I don't think he'd be one of the more comfortable passengers. I can picture him trying to read for most of the flight, only to realize he's plane sick. Eventually, he takes pity on Céline (girl has had enough of the lovebirds next to her) and offers her an empty window seat next to him. Weirdly enough, it's not awkward between the two of them. They even end up chatting a little. Unclear whether Hodge is actually having a great time or just clinging to her bc he's fed up with being left alone.
Side note : From the most to the least talkative row overall : R2 - R1 - R3.
I had so much fun making these silly headcanons 💕
I'd love to hear yours too, so feel free to add on or disagree!
