The second special stage event for Yoroi Shin Den Samurai Troopers under Tokyo MX at AnimeJapan 2026 had Hiiro Ishibashi (Gai) and Takuya Sato (Sasuke) talk about their opinions and some BTS stuff for the first cour. The event was called "Gai & Sasuke's Fiery Talk Stage" and both voice actors (Sato-san especially) had a lot of fun. There are currently no recordings uploaded for this stage yet, so I'll summarize the event from recollections of fans who did get to attend:
@- Takuya Sato is a huge, and I mean MEGA fan of the original YST. He grew up with it and was 4 years old when it premiered. Even in his cast commentary from a few months ago, he stated that his first ever Christmas present from Santa was a figure of the Kikoutei. Sato-san was really excited to appear on stage and in full otaku mode. There was even a 30MF Gai figure placed in the area, and he couldn't help but fiddle & play with it. He recounted that, when he first heard about the role of Sasuke, he begged and kept pestering his manager to arrange an audition for him because he really wanted to work on YSST (fun fact: his agency, Ken Production, is also the same as Katsuyuki Konishi's, Ramaga's seiyuu,).
@- Hiiro Ishibashi and Takuya Sato view their characters kinda like nephew and uncle. Sato-san told the audience "He's a good kid," and would like to give him encouragement in the industry as an uncle otaku (dude's only 41 lmao).
@- Sato-san didn't expect the Ten Braves to get merch as well, and pre-ordered all of them online as soon as he could. Now he's just waiting for the merch to be delivered to his home. He also said he thought the Ramaga acrylic standee would be more pricey than the others since it's so big, but it was the same price, so he got a good deal lol.
@- Both of them thought Nezu would stay on for far longer since his voice actor was Kenichi Suzumura (who is probably the biggest name among the cast currently). Sato-san said he should've lasted until the penultimate episode at least.
@- There was actually a lot more stuff that the voice actors of the Ten Braves recorded for the nagashi somen scene in Episode 7. Apparently, a lot of it was cut out in the final product.
@- Takuya Sato thought the Ten Braves would get to sing like the troopers as well, but was disappointed to find out that they didn't.
@- They talked about the Braves' shower scene in Episode 9. It had a lot of fans talking on social media, and as they were discussing it, the scene played on the screen behind them. Sato-san asked "Are we allowed to show this?" and called out to any passers-by who stopped to watch: "You're curious about where this is from right? It's from Samurai Troopers! Thanks and nice to meet you all!" He also said the Braves had nice abs and well-muscled bodies fit for fighting.
@- Hiiro Ishibashi and Takuya Sato referred to Inmei (Takehito Koyasu) as the "big guy" and implied that he will play a bigger role in Cour 2.
@- Sato-san said that he is always happy to lend his voice as Sasuke or anyone else to YSST. He's really passionate about the project. Both of them reminded the audience to catch the re-run of Episode 12 on Tokyo MX on 31st March 2026 as there will be some after-credits stuff.
So that's basically it. As you can see, Takuya Sato clearly loves being Sasuke, and so do I. Fans have noted that at other events (he had others in the same convention), he was mostly calm and professional. However, with this YSST event, he was very excited and seemed like a kid again. He and Hiiro Ishibashi were friendly with each other, and took a lot of pictures together. It definitely made a lot of fans happy to see them talk about their experiences. I hope we get to see Sasuke more, if not in the show itself, then in other material as well.
