|| An Unexpected Addition ||
Things were finally official. Bella was no longer allowed to be trapped inside the house that causes her so much torment. She also has a place to go after being freed. She won’t be alone, left to fend for herself. Even when she claims she’d be able to, Esme doesn’t allow it. Bella is still young, and an extra watchful eye is never a bad thing. So, with everything finalized, Esme takes the teenage human to her house, ready to care for and watch over Bella as a new guardian.
She had spent a lot of time getting the house ready for this. Taking in somebody who would actually need sleep and food and other such things would require a few little changes that the Cullen family normally overlooks. Esme had the fridge stocked, and created plans for going out shopping whenever things started to run low. They arranged one of the rooms to be more fitting for a permanent living space, and not just a spare room. There’s now a comfortable bed and empty storage spaces, ready for any belongings that Bella might have brought with her. She had picked up extra toiletries as well, not knowing what all she may need and have on her already.
When they arrive at the large house together, Esme can’t help but notice the tension in the air. She knows that this will be quite a change for Bella, and there are probably plenty of conflicting feelings inside of her. She wants to ease any negative emotions as much as she can.
“Would you like to see your room?” she asks, hoping to spur some conversation, or at least help her to feel more comfortable in this new setting.
