#obakeng Any one who knows me, knows when I travel I have to make my way to the #localcommunities. Connecting with the #KgatelopeleCommunity lead me to this school, located in the slums of South African. I was able to provide a donation, spend time with the children, and all the wonderful teachers and staff. Obakeng means "Praise Him (God)"and Kgatelopele means ‘progress or the way forward” in the local Setswana language. Use of the word #slums is not to degrade but to help others understand the quilty and lack of basic living standards that we take for granted, based on the dictionary that is:  highly populated urban residential area consisting of densely packed housing units of weak built quality. The infrastructure in slums is often deteriorated or incomplete, and it's primarily inhabited by impoverished people lack reliable sanitation services, supply of clean water, reliable electricity, law enforcement, and other basic services.
