Hello, hello hiiiiii, I hope you like my story!!! Helo hiiii)
A night of work for the nocturnal folk.
The horizon, a field of grass, the blades move against each other like waves as the wind brushes through. Slowly, the point of view pans up slowly towards the sky, the moon isn’t in view tonight, but the stars faintly dot the sky.
Suddenly, there’s a zip of blue light across the sky, then a green streak zigzags close behind.
The rustling of grass is heard as two other lights--a lighter green and blue, rapidly attempt to catch up. No doubt, a race between Drowsy and Vigil.
Elsewhere…
POP! Goes a cork to a bottle and then glass is shattered and the opaline liquid spread across the floor of the forest.
“Are you okay young dreamer?” Calls out an elegant voice, concern etching at the tone.
Dreams hastily rises from the ground, rubbing the dirt out of her dress.
“I- I’m fine. Mentor. I.. ahem.. Just dropped a bottle.” She says, stumbling over her words. She opens and closes her mouth like a fish out of water, trying to think of an apology, but is promptly stopped when she feels a long tendril settle reassuringly on her shoulder.
She looks up and sees her mentor towering above her, their hat blocking out the starlight.
“It was just one bottle, be careful next time.” They move to clean up the glass, the jewels that dangle off the rim of their hat twinkling as they bend over.
“I don’t know why you don’t just take into their air,” They continue a bit strained. “Flying makes transport faster.”
There's a moment of silence as Dreams fiddles with her thumbs, focusing on her hands intently.
“I didn't want to drop the bottles.”
That earned her a chuckle from her mentor.
