i think my fav part of today's jack & joker is that we got to see the direct difference between coach's self flagellating apology given just to make himself feel better vs joker's apologies driven by actions over just empty words to show his sincerity.
i was gonna say damn hoy and tattoo are so stupid they deserve what has been happening to them but - their stupidity was also the point of this episode. we see that children of poverty aren't able to go to school because they have to work to help their parents and without access to education the cycle has a tendency (not always, but often enough) to continue. we can possibly draw the conclusion that while incredibly skilled with mechanics and engineering, outside of that neither of them have received much formal education and therefor likely haven't honed strong cause and effect and deductive skills.
that's not to say people of poverty aren't intelligent - fuck knows in some ways they're smarter than any ivy league professor could ever be - but survival intelligence and formal intelligence are different and solely dedicating to one or the other has severe limitations.
idk. tldr; i really liked the parallels of this episode. don't like hope, he's not irredeemable but i just don't like him. yucky man.
