I think my perception of how difficult sims university is has been severely skewed by the fact the last sim I had try it was Penelope O'Donovan, who got pregnant almost immediately and tried to hold down a job + uni + cleaning the dorm + classes + clubs, and then had to drop out because she passed out so many times and was never clean and didn't have enough money, then had to move to the most cramped little started home ever.
And she didn't learn her lesson, had a SECOND kid and didn't know the dad, blew up her relationships with all potential candidates after finding out one got married, one had been married the whole time, and one was dating someone else. So it was her and 2 kids in a cramped house and she spiraled into depression. And then baby #1 ended up getting parentified when she just wanted to be a chief of mischief and she also had to hold down multiple jobs at a young age.
And eventually Penelope found a guy who maybe wasn't the love of her life but had a decent job, a kid of his own, and was good to her kids. But by that point the oldest was ready to move out and I switched generations, so the whole thing just kinda sucked.
