without naming names: Friend of mine with a brilliant art and comic site was being impersonated/harassed by a crazy furry who was claiming to be the original creator of her works. crazyfur claimed friend was an identity thief who had stolen not only the works but also her ability to draw, making her look like the thief. crazyfur’s boyfriend-fur impersonated a lawyer and served fake documents on friend’s comic forum demanding full rights to the work or else lawsuit into next century. the bar association for his home state sent him a letter over that one, lol.

i went digging and found a shit ton of dirt dating back several years showing crazyfur’s obsessive behavior and ripoff stuff. screenshots, side-by-sides of friend’s art and crazyfur’s ripoffs, documentation of the legal threats, i went all out in a single LJ post laying out all the evidence. it absolutely ruined crazyfur’s reputation. she was never again able to get my friend harassed with her sob story. a few months later she posted a full confession and apology and promised never to do it again.
