I think if the circumstances were just right you could write an in character fanfiction where Ed thinks him and Oswald are in a relationship and Oswald thinks they are in an extremely passionate and intimate fwb situation. Like. They bang shortly after 5x11 happens without talking about anything first + Ed says some stupid shit that doesn’t come off right + they both get distracted by other shit that’s going on around them + zero communication from either party would do the trick I think.
