Over the last few weeks we’ve seen a few changes in the characters we have in this group. Some have left leaving huge plot holes for others, some have lost their muses over the holidays, and others just needed to try something new. All of these reasons are welcome for a new muse to enter. However, the problem of swapping muses over has become a bit of an issue settling the group as a whole so that plotting and development can grow. We have heard the concerns from our players and will be starting a new rule as of February 1st. We chose this date so that anyone with any of the before mentioned worries have time to sort themselves out regarding muses before the rule comes into affect.
The new rule is that when dropping a muse, whether from activity check or voluntarily, players will have to wait 7 days after the unfollow is posted before adding a new character. This allows several things to occur - 1) You’re not bringing in a muse you only have inspiration for on day one and never again 2) you have time to reach out to players for connections in advance 3) you can develop more on who they are 4) your other characters are not neglected.
The only exception to this rule is for players who only have the one character. You may change them over without a waiting period, however, if you abuse this with changing too often admins will need to talk with you about why you can’t retain a muse.
We hope that this solves any concerns for players but also benefits those who have struggled with their muses.
