meant to be? (task para)
It wasnât an easy career, but it was the career of a lifetime. Once again, for the 20th consecutive season, she passed the audition process with flying colors. At this point, she was a principal dancer and also a tour choreographer. She had toured around the world, notoriously in the USO shows. Though, it was a particular show in Germany, where she had fallen and shattered her ankle. It required surgery, for her to be sent back to New York for recovery and rehabilitation.Â
It was during rehab that she experienced a similar numbing, foot asleep feeling that was more and more frequent, but very much akin to how she had fallen in the first place, because her foot went numb during a jump, leading her to not feel it in landing. All she had to do way tell a doctor that she couldnât feel her feet, and it opened this hellstorm of neurological testing. Then came the results of the tests. Lesions in her spine, decreased neuromotor activity. Multiple Sclerosis, incurable but treatable.Â
Going home, her brain was in a whirlwind. She had plans to retire someday, but not anytime soon. She had all these appointments lined up with an IVF specialist. This was going to be her turn. All she had to do was tell Santana, after all these years, one wish remained. How was she going to convince her when she had just been diagnosed with a disease in which her own body was attacking itself? When she got home, she sat down at her bedside, and stared at the pamphlets that she had gotten to show Santana her intentions of taking this one wish to the next level. In defeat, she stashed the pamphlets in the drawer that locked. Maybe for a rainy day... maybe forever... Maybe certain things werenât meant to be. Â
