And, as people continue to look for more convenient, grab-and-go food solutions, CPG companies are taking note and delivering more nut-inspired options to the masses, according to a report published by Candy Industry magazine and cited on FoodDive.com.
In 2016, nuts and seeds made up a $5.4 million market in the U.S. alone. With what appears to be only room to grow, expect to see more nuts in cereals, baked goods, and bars and other snack foods on your future shopping trips. But, that may be just the tip of the iceberg for this growing category, with items like nut flours and nut-based drinks on the rise, as well. So, get ready for consumers to shell out more and more for nut-inspired snacks. Â
