Hi, saw your blazed post and noticed "New condition education" as one of your services. Just concerned about if you might get in legal trouble depending where you live since in some areas interpreting labs and diagnosis without a doctor can be grounds for legal trouble! I might be mistaken, but better safe than sorry. It's important to protect your hard earned license!
To clarify, I would not be diagnosing- someone would come to me with a diagnosis of, say, hypertension, which most docs don’t have time to fully explain beyond “now you have to take this pill” and I could allow time to answer questions, explain how the illness worked in a way they could understand, and coach them on potential lifestyle changes they may want to make. This is covered under #4 of the nurse practice act in my state, pictured below:
RN is an independent license, and only #5 requires the order of another healthcare provider. That means I can practice completely independently of any provider provided I am carrying out an action listed under 1,2,3,4 or 6.
