She is just 23 years old but Nunana Vanessa Awoonor is currently riding high on both the corporate and academic ladder.

With a highly successful modelling career and the establishment of a marketing management company here in Ghana, Nunana is currently pursuing a Masters degree in Architectural Design in the United States of America.

Born in Ghana to Vivian and Christian Besa Awoonor, Nunana’s dream is to bring what she has learnt and practiced in the US for five years in marketing management to bear in Ghana and contribute her quota to the economy.

Currently living in New Jersey, where she attended high school and college, with her parents, Nunana switches between both countries but hopes to settle down in Ghana when the time is right.

“I am trying to come back to Ghana and bring what I have learnt there in terms of marketing management. Architectural design has always been a passion of mine but I wanted to wait and see if it will be a subject to be pursued later and I think this is the time I can pursue it.

As the Chief Executive Officer of newly established NVA Marketing and Promotions (NVAMP), her event staffing and promotional marketing company, she believes that her experience gathered working with global brands like Pepsi, Coke, Redbull, Malibu, Baileys, and Jameson, will come in handy in running her company.

NVAMP aims to provide excellent marketing and promotional services through its team of professional promotional staff for its current and future clients across the country.

“We train our staff to interact properly with customer, create a great vibe around the brand and company they will be representing as well. We intend to leave a lasting impression on the minds of our clients by providing them with exceptional services with a phenomenal experience.”

Describing herself as very passionate and going all out to do what she wants, her determination has brought her this far.

She hopes that in the next five years, she will be able to accomplish as much as she can in terms of what she has learnt and make this world a better place.

“Hopefully we will be running very consistently with lots of events to host, and if possible go outside Ghana with Nigeria in mind. If it is possible for us to be in all of Africa then so be it.

With no husband and kids yet, Nunana, whose uncle is the late literary giant Professor Kofi Awoonor, said she feel life is too short and one should live it to the fullest. She also hopes to become a great role model to others to accomplish their goals in life.

With the establishment of a couple of charities in mind she wants to help out not just from where she hails from, Tefle in the Volta Region but other parts of the country.

“I want try to start a few charities to help out. People think helping out is an easy thing to do but it is not; you really have to put your all into it and have a purpose behind it. It is not about giving because you have in excess but rather you want to change lives and make a social impact.”
