So I finally got Smith’s Touchmark for Null Composure, the gun which singlehandedly changed my opinion on Fusion Rifles.
But also... I totally forgot about the lore you get with it.
This is why I f#cking love the Drifter.

Yup, that's... Definitely a Fusion Rifle.
Oh come on, Guardian, what am I supposed to say about Null Composure? It's a strange piece coming at a strange time. Fusion rifles aren't exactly top choices right now, with no Champion support and nothing to really help them shine in this season's artifact. As a matter of fact, the artifact's focus on grenade launcher mods makes me lean even heavier on last season's offering in Salvager's Salvo.
Not even the return of Reservoir Burst can change my mind about that. Unlike Loaded Question before it, this weapon doesn't have Auto-Loading Holster, a feature which allowed the wielder to always have a high-powered shot on tap. Plus, when one factors in the wide availability of Chain Reaction- read, "Reservoir Burst but better" -it becomes even harder to reccomend this over Salvager's.
It's a shame, really. I missed using Fusion Rifles in my day to day, and I was hoping this one would reinvigorate the archetype for me.
Oh well. There's always next season, right?
