The revelation of the final episode of Produce 101 Season 2 has brought about a mix of happy and saddening news for the four Pledis trainees on the program. While Hwang Minhyun made it into the final 11 at number-nine spot, three other Pledis trainees have unfortunately missed the cut line at 13th (Kang Dongho), 14th (Kim Jonghyun) and 20th (Choi Mingi). Fans felt and shared the tears of Hwang Minhyun as the show draw to a close, worrying about their next steps.

However, this unexpected twist of fate has brought about new heights for NU’EST. “Nation’s Leader” ‘Kim Jonghyun’ trended first on NAVER, and their classic track, ‘Hello’ surged to 1st on Melon’s Sudden Soar Chart. The train didn’t just stop there - soon, several songs were climbing up Melon’s Real-Time charts in the next couple of hours, and have remained in the daily top 100 for the last three days; ‘Hello’ also peaked at Genie’s Real-Time Chart at no.1, making it the first track to ever reach the top of any music charts in the last 6 years of NU’EST’s career. ‘NU’EST’ also became #1 on Melon’s Top Artiste Chart. and have remained so for the last three days.

The very same night the program ended, at 5AM KST, sleepless L.O.V.Es pushed 13 NU’EST tracks onto the Sudden Soar Chart, topping #1-#13 spots. Love Paint, Daybreak, Thank You and Overcome all made an appearance on Melon’s Real-Time Charts.

The official Fancafe members have also tripled since the start of Produce 101, hitting their 50k mark on the 17th, and reaching 75k mark as of the time this article is being written. When they’ve gained 1-2k members in the span of a comeback in the past, they’re gaining hundreds of new members within an hour. The Fancafe supporters have been hard at work all day and night, clearing out new applications so that they can join in on the boards, even having to close down the level-up board so that they can work more efficiently without new posts streaming in.

Love Paint music video emerged first on NAVER TOP 100 as fans translate their unjust into streaming and support. The NAVER video has now gotten over 2 mil views, and today, LOOK choreography video made its way into the top 5 alongside Love Paint MV. New fansites emerged for the boys during the last broadcast, and existing fansites all sees a growth in their following.

And Pledis sees the results. The numbers have spoken, and the trends and push from fans and supportive public worked.

From the initial statement of ‘nothing has been decided’, the agency updated with an official statement in a few hours, promising a stage with the remaining four members, Kim Jonghyun, Kang Dongho, Kwak Aron and Choi Mingi to meet with the fans soon after their well-deserved break. In the most hopeful official statement to date, Pledis pledged to work hard so that NU'EST, as five, would be able to walk on the flower road, and asked fans to look over them fondly.

From the initial mixed results in joining the program to overwhelming support, NU’EST have walked a mile in the last four months. While it would take 18 months before we can see the group as five again, with exciting things in store for both NU’EST and WANNA ONE with Minhyun, the wait would be a short one.

May NU’EST only walk the flower path from now on.

KWAVE U, a mobile app by KWAVE Official which aims to grant fans’ wishes from their favourite stars. Available on Google Play and the Apple App store. Right now, they’re having a Special Calling event for Produce 101 trainees, and both Choi Mingi (Ren) and Kim Jonghyun (JR) are on the list!

Over 50 days, you need to achieve 20,000,000 hearts for Ren and JR separately. There is also a special calling period for NU'EST, where you need to achieve 50,000,000 hearts in 30 days. The total hearts we need would sounds overwhelming, but there's actually many, many ways you can earn free hearts:

Do the daily missions. Check them by going into the three-line bar at the top left, you will see 'Mission'. There’s also accumulative bonus for weekly missions, so don’t miss out.

Top right corner, plus the Heart/Kiss symbol and enter the Heart Charge page. There, you can watch commercials and earn Lucky Box. (random hearts, no limits).

In the same page, go to Lucky Draw tab and enter any lucky coupons you have. Coupons appear up to 3 times a day at random when you use the app.

You can easily earn hundreds of hearts every day, especially with the 4th step, trial and tested. You can also send hearts 10 at a time by pressing on the hearts button longer for a second, so as to reduce time.

The more hearts you send, the higher odds your wish will be fulfilled (of course, it must be a wish that’s possible for the stars to grant), so do give the app a try.

For Kisses, each Kiss = 60 hearts, and the app is having a 1+1 event right now till 31 Jul; this means you will get double the amount of Kiss at the original price. However, this is not mandatory as this requires actual cash payments.

Minhyun: “We have to be more humble. Always be humble.”

NU'EST's participation on Produce 101 season 2 has brought upon a lot of scrutinize on the boys, and definitely on us, the L.O.V.E fandom. Dear L.O.V.Es, things we do or say can and will reflect on the boys. Just like Minhyun said - we have to be humble, and careful of our actions. There had been a lot of upsetting moments, frustrations and unjust assumptions, but those are not reasons for us to get warped in bitterness. 

There’s a lot of posts and anger directed to Pledis, but there’s nothing worth your time to focus on it right now. As Baekho mentioned in the interview, they had lower and lower album sales each time, and we have to ask ourselves, how many of us supported them during the most crucial promotion period? L.O.V.Es, let’s stop the hate for a moment and reflect upon ourselves, then build ourselves up from square zero again with the boys. 

Help to guide new fans and show them what NU’EST have to offer; pick no fights with those who attack us and they will pass us by; never put someone else down to elevate the boys’ because that is exactly the same as what they are going through right now; respond with tactfulness when needed; show support with gifs and encouraging messages, with likes on videos and positive comments. Remember, we are called L.O.V.Es, so let us focus on the positive, and spread the love. We are in it together, and we have to be more humble, we have to always be humble.

Sincerity is what touches people, positive mindset is what makes them stay, and humility is what helps us grow. Keep supporting the boys in any ways you can, and be awesome, fellow L.O.V.Es!

After a grueling round of eliminations, the remaining 60 trainees on Produce 101 proceeded with the Position Evaluations, where trainees pick from ‘dance’, ‘vocal’ and ‘rap’ positions to showcase their strengths. Trainees are expected to partake in the arrangement, choreography and rap making in their teams. All the teams have performed in front of a live audience on 7th May.
