Wednesday, was Jeongyeonâs day. So that meant: dumplings, bubble tea, and the stars.
The body next to hers was warm and so were the arms that were wrapped around her. Jihyoâs eyes fluttered open as she was greeted with Jeongyeon staring back at her; a smile playing on the older girlâs lips, âGood morning, Hyo.â The younger smiled as she nuzzled into Jeongâs neck, kissing her jaw as she cuddled closer.
âYouâre warm.â Jeongyeon sighed as she buried her face in Jihyoâs hair, inhaling the youngerâs shampoo. If anything, this was Heaven.
âYou smell nice.â Jihyo laughed as she sat up slightly, finally looking Jeongyeon in the eye.
âWhen did we become so sappy?â Jeongyeon shrugged as she mused the younger girlâs hair, laughing as she got up.
âYouâre just getting old.â Jihyo gasped in offense as she threw a pillow at Jeongyeon, the older dodging it effortlessly, âIâm kidding. We both are,â Jihyo scowled at her Unnie, making Jeong hold up her arms in defense, âBut we should get ready. It is Wednesday after all.â
Jihyo groaned in mock annoyance, âDonât remind me.â It was Jeongyeonâs turn to scoff in offense as the younger laughed, âSee, Jeongyeon-ah. Two can play at that game.â
â
As the sun dipped behind the buildings the stars began to shine, and Jeongyeonâs smile all but brightened as she held on tightly to Jihyoâs hand. The younger allowing herself to be pulled through the crowded night market as they made their way to a tent in the heart of the hustle and bustle of the market.
The elderly woman behind the stall looked up immediately at Jeongyeonâs voice, âHalmeoni!â
The woman smiled as she was greeted with her two long time customers, âJeongyeon-ah. Jihyo-ah. What a surprise! Hal-abeoji and I missed you two so much!â The two girls smiled as Jeongyeonâs grip loosened.
âI know. Itâs been awhile, but we missed your dumplings and tea, Halmeoni. No one makes them better than the masters.â The woman smiled at Jeongyeonâs words, finally looking over to Jihyo.
âKeep an eye on her for me, Jihyo-ssi. She can sweet talk any girl out of her panties at this rate.â At her words a dark blush set in on Jihyoâs cheeks as she nodded, subconsciously moving to lean on Jeong. The older woman laughed at the youngestâs expense, âIâm just teasing. But you two didnât come here to just talk shop, you came here for the dumplings and tea.â Jeong rubbed the back of her neck as she nodded.
âAlways on our case, huh, Halmeoni. Even when we were kids we could never get anything past you.â The woman just shrugged.
âOld womanâs intuition.â She smiled as she handed the girls their food, wishing them well as they made their way to the river.
â
The night was cold, but Jeongyeonâs hands were warm as they watched people and the stars. They missed the times when this was all they knew: fame, a thing of the future and being together was the present. âThis never gets old, does it?â Jeong sighed as she looked to Jihyo, a dumpling held up to her mouth.
âNo, but we have. I remember the first time we did this.â The elder laughed at the memory, âI was a scared trainee who grew up in JYP and you were just so carefree. Not caring whether you got caught or not, you just wanted to show me how to have fun.â
Jeongyeon laughed, âYeah, because you were always so uptight,â she took a drink before continuing, âI just canât believe weâre still able to do it now, I really did miss this.â Jihyo nodded as she rested her head on Jeongyeonâs shoulder.
âJust you and me, dumplings, bubble tea, and the stars.â The elder smiled as she placed her head atop Jihyoâs.
âYeah, and all it took was for you to trust me.â The younger sighed as she lifted her head to face the older.
âAnd Iâm glad I did.â Jihyo smiled as she pulled Jeongyeon in for a kiss, their lips perfectly melded together as their breath hung between them.
âI love you, Hyo.â
Jihyo smiled as she kissed Jeong again.
âI love you too, Jeongyeon-ah.â
