okay but imagine army! Calum coming home early from war but he’d wanna surprise you so he wouldn’t call you to tell you and when he finally got back in from the flight it would be like 2 AM so he knew you would be asleep when he got there like an hour later and as he would walk into the bedroom the two of you shared he would see you laying on his side of the bed in one of his many tshirts with the teddy bear he’d given you right before he left cuddled into your chest with your knees pulled up so you were in a ball and he wouldn’t wanna wake you, but damn did he want to see his baby’s eyes, so he would kneel in front of you so that his face was level with yours and kiss your forehead which would startle you from your sleep and he would move the hair from your face gently as you started to come to and realize that he was actually home and that it wasn’t a dream which causes you to basically tackle him to the floor with the teddy bear crushed between the two of you as you showered his face with kisses and even started crying a little into his chest as it hit you that he made it home safely and he would pick you up and place you into bed before taking off his uniform and laying down on top of you so he can have his turn to kiss your face and after awhile of the two of you would just be laying and be looking at each other as you would start to drift back to sleep but he couldn’t bring himself to close his eyes no matter how tired he became because he didn’t think he’d be able to see your face again but he is and he didn’t wanna miss the opportunity to look at the love of his life and wow I hate me

Michael meeting your family for the first time would be such a nerve-wracking thing for him I think. He would be the type to make it seem like it wasn’t a big deal for the first week, but when the day actually came he would put his button up on wrong (the buttons would be uneven), and his hands wouldn’t be stable enough to fix his tie so you would have to do it for him while you tried not to laugh at his shaking hands, but a small giggle would escape your lips and he would just give you that sad puppy look and be like “babe pls don’t laugh at me i’m too nervous for that” and you would ask why he was so nervous and he would get slightly aggravated bc “it’s your family and if they hate me then we can’t be together-” but you would interrupt him with “Michael, my family will love you, but even if they don’t it doesn’t mean I won’t” and he would smile a little bit before it faltered and he would say as he looked down “so there’s a chance they wont love me??” and he would sound so worried and would look like he might cry so you would grab his cheeks with your hands and make him look back up at you and tell him “they will love you no matter what because you make me happy, and they love the things that make me happy baby, so please do not worry about it, okay?” and he would finally give you a real smile and a small nod before the two of you finally head out for your families house where Michael was greeted by your mom, who loved him immediately (which put Michael at ease a bit), and then your siblings who teased him for actually liking you and asking how he could actually like you, which would kind of piss you off, but Michael would put his arm around your waist and pull you into him while smiling down at you and say “what’s not to love about this beautiful angel?” and you couldn’t help but smile and give him a little kiss on the cheek right when your dad would walk in to see the exchange between the two of you, clearing his throat to bring the two of you out of your own little world so you could introduce Michael to your dad, aka Michael’s greatest fear. as you introduced the two, Michael would go for a hand shake while your dad would go for a hug, causing the two to awkwardly pause and switch to what the other was doing, while you just laughed at the awkward exchange and walked to the kitchen to help your mom finish up dinner, Michael shortly walking in looking flustered as ever
