“mrs. karkaroff, you’re looking lovely tonight.” dionisia said, a large smile on her lips. in contrast to any interaction dionisia had with anton, she spoke genuinely for once. hating a woman because of her husband, well, that felt a bit too played out for her tastes. “can i interest you in a ghost story tonight?”

“oh no, it seems i have been murdered.” dionisia sat back down at her table again, another plate of food in hand. “how unfortunate.” she grabbed her glass of wine. “i was expecting something a bit more dramatic, honestly. maybe some fake blood, even.”

“what the fuck is this?” augustine held a bright orange drink up. it was an atrocious orange, she would go as far to say that it looked even a little radioactive. “who in the world would genuinely want this? a candy corn cocktail sounds like a nightmare.” of course, augustine was the one that had asked for, morbidly curious about exactly how it would turn out.
