"Bedspreads of character and charm" Novelite ad in March 1924 Woman's Home Companion

A typical traditional, vaguely Colonial bedroom of the 1920s is pictured here, with the wooden floors which were universal in older houses and still common in new builds, with an oblong braided rag rug on the floor matching the antique (or faux antique) character of the four-poster bed, mirror, and dresser, of nice, dark wood, but not overly elaborate or dainty in character. The sconces flanking the mirror show by their glass chimneys that they are most likely gas lights. The shield-shaped fire screen is another popular "early American" antique or faux-antique piece.
