Something Bothering Me - Message Addressed to Sims...

Creators have every right to do whatever they want with the content THEY MADE. No one is obligating you to download it....

@novasim  I will inform you that they actually do not have the right to do whatever they want with the content they create (Look at the Sims 2, 3 and 4 EA EULAs). They do not have right to make profit, EA does. And like we have seen in the past, EA has taken down many simblrs and sims sites when they have felt like it because of this.  But also, as I see you are a converter, I’m sure you’re aware Simmers most definitely do not have the right to charge money or gain ad revenue from conversions. That goes for any conversions, whether SL, from other games or even Sims 3 or 2 or 4. Yet I have seen this happen with Ad.fly in the previous years.

As well, unlike a job such as musician, artist and game designer, where they are creating all materials from scratch (like for a game creator, they create everything from the world, music, graphics, maybe hire voice actors, etc), this is not a job--it's a hobby. It's not within EA’s boundaries--therefore its non-commercial and therefore under the EULA. 

You can choose to treat it like a job but factually, it is not--people are not required to pay you. Essentially that is part of the problem here. People want to support creators. The problem gains momentum when they’re being forced to pay in order to get content that is legally meant/contracted to be free.

However if you had read my post properly, you would have seen that I and many others feel quality and original creators can deserve some kind of compensation. The issue i brought up was the problem of Gated Content behind a paywall and added the implications of that decision for the communities along with others who pointed out other issues that surround it.

If you had read the post in its entirety and with Kosmo’s addition (along with others) you would have gotten the full picture.
