Once in the garden, Athina’s eyes lit up with awe as she peered down at the candle arrangement gleaming below.
“Nova... w-what is this?” she asked, butterflies growing in her stomach. “Did you-”
Before she could get her words out Nova swooped around and kneeled down in front of her. She gasped in response.
“I know we haven’t been together long and this may be too soon,” he began,“but I wanna cherish you and spend the rest of my life with you. I feel like this is my last chance at true love. Will you marry me?”
She put her hand on her chest, her heart beating as if it was on the verge of ripping out. She was almost speechless but she stayed responsive. “Y-yes...YES,” she finally gushed, lending her hand out so Nova could slide the ring on her finger.
