Questions Anyone? ||Alek
@notyourwar Scott pulled his motorcycle into the McCall home driveway. A car with white plates was idling in front.Scott removed his helmet. He suspected someone would come knocking after Stuart was rescued. Suits. Government suits.They asked him, in an oh-so-official way for him to accompany them. Run? Fight? He’d look guilty. Go with them? He didn’t know where they’d be taking him. His first impulse was texting Stiles, but he couldn’t do that. Not with this phone anyway. He couldn’t text someone Underground with the one in his pocket. Sheriff? He didn’t want to make his precarious situation worse. It was obvious. And he wondered why he hadn’t thought of her first. He scrolled to “Mom” in his contacts list and texted her: Can’t make dinner tonight. Something’s come up. They hadn’t planned on having dinner together anyway–she had night shift tonight. He hoped that would be enough of a hint. Breaking someone out of a government facility. Illegal. Associating with unregistered individuals and Le Chassé. Illegal. But how would they know about any of that? They hopefully just wanted to ask questions. Did he still have rights? He was registered. He had a part-time,legal job, and he no longer worked under a known leader of a rebellion.(Okay, he did work for someone who had professionally,as in the veterinary profession side, worked with Deaton, but it was some distance. ) And he hadn’t taken part in the riot. It was thin,but he’d known it would be when he decided on the collar. He didn’t have a plan. But the choice that made him look the least guilty was to act offended and go with them.
