My absolute favorite sub-character on any recent television show is the one single guy at NASA who bailed when the air raid siren went off in the second season the finale of For All Mankind. Good for him.

so my boss somehow just accidentally tricked me into making free art for her child’s middle school??? wth do I do help SOS
fuck
My patience is gone.
I finally lost all patience with customers today. Â I work for a theater; I sell concessions, tickets, and clean theaters. Â I have to deal with too many adult tantrums and consider it a part of the job, but today I decided I don't care anymore. Â Thus now I vent to the internet.
The wonderful customer in question is a man who after being greeted will not let me finish a single sentence while I am trying to take his order. Â I become less enthused each time he cuts me off. Â I ring up his total and he makes a statement about being rich for having cash in his wallet. Â I nod and continue my job, but he then proceeds to tell me that was a joke and I should be laughing. Â When I don't laugh, I am told that I don't have a personality and he decides to call me an asshole to my manager. Â Thankfully, she doesn't write me up for not laughing. Â
I am happy to work somewhere where my coworkers will back me up and stand on my side against bullshit like this. Â We all have to deal with these people who think that 1) spending $15 is a lot of money and 2) Spending the money gives them the right to behave like toddlers and treat us like shit. We'll remember you.
Moral of today, don't be an asshole and expect perfect service, or don't try to get someone fired for not laughing at your dumb joke. Â
Feel free to submit questions about theater-related things if you have any.
He didn’t need to be told twice. He was literally scrambling away like a hurt dog the way he ran on his fours. Only to skid up on his regular twos, a bookshelf, conveniently in the way to help his balance as he grabbed hold of it. His hand, rubbing underneath his chin with a soft flush. “S-S-Sorry, s-s-sir. I-I-I didn’t mean to trip on you!” He was rather sure it was his fault. What with how much experience this man seemed to have. Donovan never did look at himself as much.Â
"P-Please, forgive me. I-I just wasn’t expecting a man like you. I-In a place like this…" His green eyes were like lightning as they searched around the room of his security office.Â
"What the hell is--" He winces from the pain brought on by his sudden outburst.Â
"What on Earth is that supposed to mean?" he hissed. A hand slowly rubbed at the dull ache in his jaw. "What do you mean, "a man like me", huh?" Kent rearranged himself into a somewhat more comfortable position. After doing so, he turned to glare at this klutz before him.
"...Who are you anyway?"
