IT WAS PRETTY DELICIOUS. That wasn’t even every dish, just the ones I got shots of. We also had rice-flour beef, tea-roasted duck, baby bok choi, noodle soup, and two different kinds of rice-flour dumplings with four different kinds of home-made ice cream for dessert.

Perhaps happy Lunar New Year, with your badass-looking tteokpokki?
Unfortunately, using the term Lunar has issues in that it erases other lunar-based new years that don’t fall on this cycle (Islamic and Jewish lunar calendars place the new year elsewhere, as I understand it).
Which is not to say I think it’s incorrect in some cases, but since this party was specifically Chinese in origin and intent, despite incorporating a magnificently delicious dish from Korea (and also a lot of American beer), I’ve been going with Chinese.

That feels like a pretty organic place to stop? Once I hit 10k, I know I'm going to have a lot harder time selling a story, but by 13-17k, I also have a really solid idea of whether or not it's something that will reward being pursued all the way to novella/novel length.
I think it’s that at around 14K is where I stop world/situation building and start having to actually write shit happening, and I’m crap at making things happen :D
