Hanzo at the watchpoint secretly cooking for McCree the recipes he sees on videos like buzz feed, because he has overheard that Jesse likes those greasy recipes, expecially after missions. Even though irl Hanzo critics McCree unhealthy diet.
The amount of butter in the recipe was unhealthy... enough that it left a sheen on the plate both before and after it was cooked. Hanzo looked at it dubiously but carried on as his phone kept talking about temperature and seasonings.
Add that to the rather distressing amount of bacon grease, that he’d been instructed to fry the chicken in of course, and he was unsure if this meal wouldn’t put the cowboy into immediate cardiac distress.
...but... McCree had expressed a fondness for this kind of food, and as much as he finds it far outside what is considered healthy... when it is done even he must admit that the smell is enticing, and while it isn’t a good food to consume after strenuous activity at least it is protein and calorie rich. After missions where they routinely eat nutrient dense ration bars and sometimes little else? Yes, he can see the appeal. That is his only concession, or at least the only one he’ll admit to himself.
So he makes the meal, plates it carefully and covers it to keep it warm while he cleans up. McCree will be coming in soon, he always does around this time, and he’ll find a paper stand with his name on it on top of the food.
Hanzo won’t stick around to see his expression, but... perhaps he’ll cook another meal or two in the future if he finds it was well received.
Or if his cooking has put McCree in the medbay.
