Except, of course, Edgar has given Nelly nothing to pass along except for a brutally passive-aggressive disownment (that Nelly completely mangles in an attempt to make it hurt less).
It's only after he realizes that Edgar has completely abandoned his own sister to be abused and degraded- within walking distance of where he lives!- without even sending a note that Heathcliff goes on his whole "Edgar isn't capable of loving like I love" speech. And honestly, I can see his point there.

I keep thinking about how Asgore doesnt really talk about like anyone but himself was affected by the tragedy and how he was affected in his speech. Like I might be misremembering but not only does he not mention Dess, he also doesn't even mention the Holidays or any worry about his best friend who lost a daughter, or- anything. Its all about how it affected him. Even when he mentions his family its about how he felt like they blamed him and how he neglected them even though they clearly didnt. Nothing about how he felt bad about Asriel losing someone that was clearly close to him, or how this clearly affected Kris' friendship with Noelle, not even a "I know it was never the same for you kids and I never forgave myself for it" like nothing. oh my god. what a self centered asshole i hate him

what i hate about director arc is that it had SO much potential. there were so many small details here and there, Wifies' (cc's) personal headcanons that make the story more interesting, Wifies' (character's) traits that could be explored. she could've been one of the best villains in unstable. but no. the atc ended SO early and with so many threads just left to hang in the air. so many potholes that were never covered in canon
why do we have to learn about Wifies taking Squiddo hostage in WIFIES QNA THAT IS AN UNLISTED HOURS LONG VIDEO and not in actual series. why is it never really said that Wifies knew which flower was in a cell because Jumper was working for her this entire time. why. fuck Wifies' very early and not that necessary death, it's whatever, im tired of being mad about it, why wouldn't we talk about what she's done during her time as Director after the end of arc, for example? just have some moments with characters involved talk about it? anything?
