May Mental Check In! A collection thoughts that have been looping around.

  Being a full time artist can be dark. You walk a fine line between doing what you love, and the magic that can be stripped away from doing so. It is an intense practice to elevate your craft and pick up new fulfilling outlets along the way.

  As always, creativity is not an asset you can queue like you do on spotify. You almost have to live in this state of "what can i pull from other sources to integrate into my work?"

  Oh boy then here comes the question of making "work" your life. It is crucial to do things you enjoy in order to stay inspired and enjoy daily life. (So i've been having a lot of intense fun.)

  Being a full time artist is like an marathon with ice cream bars at the water stations. It’s difficult and treacherous for the some parts, but to have the freedom to grow stronger mentally and physically along the way makes it all worth the effort. I have recognized the value in mentors and people you trust to make the process more rewarding. Its the same way the Avengers bring their own unique super powers together to accomplish the impossible.

  Things i’ve been thinking about this month: 

- Am i creating for my own pleasure? Or to keep people interested in my work? 

 ⁃ Make more decisions that bring joy into my life. 

 ⁃ Remember to give gratitude 

 ⁃ Is comfortability good? Am i comfortable right now? And is that a bad thing? 

 - Where do I see myself in the next 5 years? Am I worrying about the future too much?

 - Catch yourself when you overthink and fall into your depressive ruts. 

 -Treating people as "experiences" in the here & now; you cannot "own" someone! It sets expectations that takes you away from what is before you. 

- Healthy solitude and healing. Learning how to cope healthily and putting these into daily practice as I navigate the world.

- Are you being mindful of yourself and your actions? 

Things I am grateful for right now:

  - This fruitful life! Running water & luxuries.

- Loving company that surrounds me. People you can trust and grow with. 

- Food in the fridge & a warm bed to rest in at night 

- A safe space to recharge and rest 

-When people go out of their way to say hi

- Nala's energy!

Reminders for self:

-The right people don’t stand in the way of the things you want.

- Timing is always correct.

- You are most magnetic when you aren’t worried about who you are attracting.

- Be patient with Nala

- Stop trying to multitask! 2 hands dedicated to your task at all times.
