I know we all have finals to prep for but here's some procrastination!
* Always post the rules
* Answer the questions of the person who tagged you and write 10 new ones
* Tag 10 people and link them; let them know they are tagged.
-Harry Potter! I used to play some online Hogwarts game all the tiiime. It was also validating to me because I had always believed in magic and finally it was cool!
2. What’s the weirdest nickname you’ve ever been given?
-Chimichanga...my last name is French and starts with a CH so a friend thought it would be funny to call me Chimichanga for some reason? Needless to say, it did not last long.
3. One skill you think is easy that everyone else struggles with.
-I don't know if this counts, but multitasking. My boyfriend cannot for the life of him focus on more than one thing at a time. I however can do my homework, watch Netflix, and talk to him all at the same time.
4. If you found yourself in a strange country you’d never been before and didn’t speak the language, what would you do?
-Hmm...if this was an unforeseen occurrence, then try to find some kind of central point like a library or city building to hopefully find someone who spoke English and figure out where to go from there. If I knew I was going there I would probably have some kind of plan ahead of time for places to go.
5. What was one thing which you “missed the boat” on, in that you didn’t join the trend until later on in its lifetime?
-Doctor Who and Sherlock...not too too much later, but a bit later than others I know. And to be fair, I didn't have TV for most of college and even before didn't have BBC America. Also, even though it might not be as much of a trend as it was before, but the Riot Grrrl movement and girl punk bands. I dabbled a bit in high school, but it wasn't till more recently that I became truly aware of the importance of these women.
6. Who has your favorite voice? Singing, spoken, whatever.
-Oh my gosh, Jimmy Stewart. I was going to say Benedictine Cumberbun because of his readings of the Little Red Hen and Ode to a Nightingale, but then I remembered my audio book of an older Jimmy reading his own poetry and its so awesome. Plus young Jimmy was just an all around catch.
7. In your favorite myth, who is the character you relate to and why?
-I can't think of any specific myths at the moment but I've always loved Artemis/Diana, goddess of the moon & the hunt. She's timeless.
8. Do you have any kind of token from your childhood? Something you hold on to for emotional reasons? What is it?
- I still have a lot of trinkets at my parents house that I've slowly been taking back. But the one thats been with me through it all (except for this move to Spain unfortunately...) is my baby blanket.
9. If the apocalypse starts in your lifetime, how will you survive as long as you can?
-I will hole up in my house and grow my own food and forage and try to survive as long as I can without having to go too far.
10. What was it like having your own place for the first time? If you don’t have your own place yet, how do you plan to nest in your future space?
-It wasn't really a big deal. I feel like I had a very smooth transition: parents-->dorm room-->sophomore year apartment with three friends-->junior-1 year out of college house with 4 friends and a house of 6 friends next door (including my boyfriend the last year)-->apartment with my boyfriend and cat-->furnished apartment in Spain with boyfriend &cat. It's really hard for me to go back to my parents' house or my boyfriend's parents' for long period of time because we are so used to being on our own and having our own routines and own way of doing things. It's also been hard living without a lot of my personal things, because I love nesting into my space. The best compliment I received about our first apartment together was that it was the perfect blend of both of our styles. That's really important to me that we both have a relatively equal say in how our home looks and feels. That's another reason its so hard to stay somewhere else, because we made our home truly ours, and that's the beauty of having your own place.
