Do you have any advice for drawing fat. I'm drawing a scug height chart and gourmand is a chonky boy but I really have no idea how to draw fat properly.
I'm terrible at giving advice but there should definitely be something you're searching for here
If you want direct advice from me, it would be to just. not be afraid to draw "too much" since that's something that I see a lot of artists who draw fat for the first time miss. Whatever works for your style really, but don't get worried abt that
Also, there's a lot of different ways that fat can buildup on the body. Just look at the difference between these two. The amount of folds can differ, so can the places it builds up. There's a lot of variation you can have! (Also shown better by people who are not me)
Something else is that it sags, like a lot. It needs a good amount of weight and gravity to it. Otherwise they'll probably just look off. Of course it also kinda depends on the fat to muscle ratio of the character, because it can look more firm that way
I don't know, I'm not very good at detailing my artistic process and knowledge in something readable!
