patches I embroidered for my jacket an age ago.
The poem is a mashup of my favourite translations of Charles Baudelaire's Le Revenant, a favourite poem of mine.
Had the best Friday night I’ve had for a while, and it essentially involved a quick run to the hardware store (shelf pins and floor protectors), supermarket fried chicken, and cleaning and oiling and assembling a bookshelf. After letting it rest overnight, I got to put the books on. Cannot wait for next weekend, when I get to wash the car.
As I have been wanting to stop sponsoring evil companies, I cancelled my music streaming subscription earlier this year, and little by little me and my husband has both been moving towards the good old physical formats. It had been fun to start looking for CDs at flea markets and create a collection together.
And now I am finally owner of an iPod again as well. A friend of mine gave it to me, and it is just so precious. I just can’t imagine how this is a machine that could have ever gone out of fashion. It is so very tiny, and so cute. It works without internet, it has a battery that lasts forever. It is my treasure.
Beautiful things, such as music, reminds me to not spend too much energy on less important things.
The worst thing that could happen to a fibre artist has happened to me.... I have discovered moths in some of my stash 😭
Thank God I keep the majority of it stored in plastic tubs so I only had to spend half the day putting what I had left out in bags and putting them in the freezer.
I'm so glad I found the moths when I did otherwise things could have been so much worse, now my office is going to be a wool free zone until I am certain there are no more moths in there... and I'm buying more storage tubs because I have learned my lesson about keeping wool out lol
Also how long should I leave wool in the freezer to make sure all the eggs and larvae are dead? Or is there a better method I should use? I've never had to deal with moths before and I'm hoping I never will again after this lol
