Not Cql, but I needed to store my recent but past doodles (bc storage space was becoming a problem on my iPad with Cql. Thanks again, Sangcheng) and this was a good place as any. In other news, i like tokusatsu.
wait, what?? I want the story of that time you met karl urban! fourtee-year-old me is INCREDIBLY jealous
OKAY WELL it was like. 2012 or something and I was seeing a play (for the second time) that happened to star one of Mr. Urban's well-known co-stars and friends. I was very happy there was an empty seat beside me, until a few minutes into the show, someone came in and sat in it. He smelled unbelievably good, but I didn't pay any attention until something happened onstage and he, very quietly, laughed.
At this point you will note that I am a person entirely divorced from sanity, because that small sound made me go rigid like a pointer in a cartoon and I just knew
I FORCED myself to Speak to him at intermission because, like, this was my dream. Any cast member of lotr was as a god to me. He clearly had no idea what I, an awkward young goth woman, was going to say to him, a hot man alone at a stage play, but when I said I was a fan he brightened up immediately. We talked about the play ("came to see one of my mates" I KNOW, KARL) and also about New Zealand (his home, my favorite place I'd ever visited), and passed a very pleasant 20 minutes. He complemented one of my tattoos, and we talked about that a bit. I cannot stress enough how kind he was about being essentially cornered by a fan at a play, and how normal and chill and nice it was.
I bid him a very rushed and embarrassed goodbye after curtain call and he went "maybe I'll see you at comic-con" which was very kind but entirely unlikely given the volume of people there.
Anyway, Karl Urban. One of the nicest, most talented dudes.
*insert “Now kiss” meme here*
Also re Phantom, the show's whole goth thing is magnificent and visually effective, but Erik's character really took a hit. In the book, all he wants is to be ordinary middle-class, nothing fancy, nothing grandiose, and it's an incredible poignant character beat. He doesn't want to be an over-the-top freak; he wants the painfully boring normal life his face robbed him of. It's fabulous. The show made it about sex, which, blech
I love Erik very much in case you couldn't tell 🖤 (he was Baby' First Complicated Villain)

How you like that?
I had one too many teas today a few hours too late in the day… so instead of sleeping I made these Nirvana in Fire gifs from a scene in Ep 1
Look at their ARCHIVE!! Isn’t it pretty!? Doesn’t it make you want to watch the show? It made @merelhyn want to watch the show!
