What kind of western is it? If it's a western
Yes! It's a Western, but it's definitely a Northerner! Which seems really strange, but let me explain. It's simply set in a snowy, gloomy atmosphere. It's not like a normal Western where it's hot, there are deserts, here it's cold and it always snows.
The monsters have had to adapt, they've been exiled in the underground, but they want to come out because they miss the warmth of the sun on their skin. (For those who have it)
The only warm place in the underground is "the greenhouse", the main core. Invented and built by Gaster, they cultivate the only things they still have from the surface and preserve the souls of humans needed to break the barrier.
