Sofia had only been in her father’s home for a few hours before she had the impulsive need to move and explore the city. Collect her thoughts, and otherwise getting into trouble that a totally normal teenager would get into. Though, not to discredit Sofia, she hadn’t found much worth her time. But she needed a little distance from the reality of her situation she had crashed into, a train ride leading into her father’s life wasn’t planned, it wasn’t unwanted, but the circumstances made things complicated.
By the time Sofia made her way back around to Bleeker Street, most of the shops on the street had closed up and people had all but vanished. A sigh escaped her lips as she stood on the steps, looking at the handle of the door. “He’s probably going to be pissed,” not that he had shown any sort of anger like that towards her earlier, she just had an unnerving feeling that maybe she would bring that out in him. Trying to shake the thoughts from her head, Sofia managed a smile, “I guess I could always give him hell for loosing sight of me after having me in his care for less than a day.” Finding her nerve, she placed her hand on the doorknob and attempted to twist it—it was locked.
“Are—are you serious right now?” She was going to have to knock. Maybe Stephen didn’t know she had slipped out shortly after she was given a room. Or maybe this was a test to see if she would use magic to get inside? Sofia could, but her father had made it clear to not use magic outside of the Sanctum. As her mind wandered through a thousand different reactions her father might have, she sucked in a deep breath and finally knocked on the door. Sofia then placed her hand on the door frame as she waited for the door to open.
