Hunting is a completely normal behavior for felines. Unlike hunger, well-fed cats can hunt!
As kittens grow & begin to display hunting like behaviors, mother cats teach this skill to her kittens. This is natural instinct is present in ALL felines.
Play & Hunting are very much similar linked activities & most play involves a toy that your cat thinks it’s “prey”, providing toys for your kittens or cats keeps them from being bored which also prevents unwanted behaviors.

When playing with your cat(s) DO NOT ALLOW them to bite or claw at your hands directly! Always use a toy!
Examples include:
Wadded up paper 📄
Feather wand 🪶
Encourages your cat to play “predator” games (hunting games)
Silently stalk prey and pounce quickly with their paws slapping the prey around playing with it before killing it.
