Hunting is a completely normal behavior for felines. Unlike hunger, well-fed cats can hunt!

As kittens grow & begin to display hunting like behaviors, mother cats teach this skill to her kittens. This is natural instinct is present in ALL felines.

Play & Hunting are very much similar linked activities & most play involves a toy that your cat thinks it’s “prey”, providing toys for your kittens or cats keeps them from being bored which also prevents unwanted behaviors.
