oh - she - WAITS!

that pacing, bored, the girl left spinning, round and round! chase is taking their time, as always, oh, chase, chase, she willing, she's ready! but the dark depths of the basement of the museum, toiling, ENDLESSLY! her beautiful, handsome, darling cheshire cat, the piece of her that she was ever meant to chase, to find, to catch! for they're two halves of a coin, aren't they? an inevitable thing. fated, ever so.

so what's another ten minutes, as the screen flashes in near indignation! it knows she's there, her phone, a damned and mocking thing! sighing, she almost slumps over the bench, a familiar place where she could look at the paintings, cast so large it left one feeling in AWE of it all. it was one of her favourite places to wait, and she knew when they were ready? chase always knew how to find her.

as if warping out of some unknown space, the other appears, alice left blinking quick, her arms latching LIGHTENING FAST around the other's neck, almost ready to squeeze them to death! "chase, chase~" that cheering call. her face already pressed to theirs, groaning, moaning, sighing, a fit. "you took so long! we had a date, a very, awfully important one, actually!"

it's sort of a cheesy thought. she knows it. whatever. let her live, let her breathe! she's not used to someone like, walking in and taking her breath away or whatever, but it HAPPENS... and it's definitely the sentiment at the forefront of her head when she's looking at colby, her head already down, her lips pursed, as she worked on something that rue knew had to be beautiful.

like, she wasn't a real patron of the arts of whatever. in fact, rue felt like a fucking fraud, to her, the way that she participated in hollywood in the so-far small roles that she'd taken on, wasn't, like, inspired. or beautiful, or meaningful, or anything, really, other than a means to an end and a way to help her SURVIVE and pay her bills. but colby? really was here for the love of the game, her face whenever rue asked her about what she was writing, just... was... god. god.

LA's a place where ALL SORTS jam together into the space. buzzing, exciting, something, bright! but colby's got a thing for what comes after hours, asking rue to meet her at her place, let's go out, hey, while nobody's watching. the idea's intoxicating, showing up with that grin and a bottle of tequila, how she's painting stairs and waxing poetic... oh. she's just... god. rue barely knows how to breathe around her. "can i look yet?" she'd been at it for a while, rue, blinking and trying to keep still.

there's a certain energy that the other exudes while on stage, and zion finds himself lapping that up -- watching with the most rapt interest, like, if he keeps his eyes glued to asher long enough, he'll absorb some of that energy. he's always looking to be someone else -- to be better, braver, more confident. when the show is over and there's time to relax, zion approaches smiling timidly. "you were great." he says, offering asher a drink zi's already paid for out of assumption. "you're always great..."

when did you get hot?

two lifelong friends who have always seen each other as platonic suddenly notice sparks. what was once familiarity turns into an awkward, thrilling tension as they both wrestle with the terrifying question: risk the friendship, or ignore the chemistry?

when bear went off to college, there was less time for finnegan -- which made sense. people grow up and move on, right? but coming back home opened the door for their friendship to continue. and, lately, it feels like they've been seeing more and more of each other, barrett drawn in for one reason or another and finn just the same.

sitting next to him now, bear can't help the way his gaze drags down the other man like appreciating him for the first time. the energy between them feels different, too, and he's left wondering if finn's always been this attractive... and if finn feels that tension, too.

"what's on your mind over there?" he risks asking, even turning in toward the other man, angling their bodies together.

pretty, pretty DARLING, oh! she hangs right off of maeve's arm as they leave the room, group therapy was always nice, but she enjoyed the time that they spent afterwards all the more. it meant that after all that raw peeling of their emotions, live, in front of an audience! they, could come down, with the two of them usually taking to a cafe for a tea, a moment of civility, alice liked to call it. a second, a spare one, to feel human again, when that feeling was so awfully rare lately, wasn't it?

the spoon in her teacup rattles about, her blue eyes glancing upwards, studying the older woman's face. something is wrong. something is creeping, crawling, clutching! there's tension right between her eyes, of something that she didn't spill out before the crowd. now. how dare she! the circus demanded it's BREAD! the stirring stops. her head, tilts.

"what's on your mind?" something, something, it's making a sound louder than her teaspoon up there, she knows it! her smile, faint, but PRESENT, her hands folding out in front of her so that she could reach to grasp at her hands. "why do i have a feeling you have the most brilliant idea to share~?" because maeve was amazing, oh! more like, maeve always had a plan. the clever ones, oh, they were the ones you had to watch for!

charlotte had spent YEARS dealing with mandhandling. and it was the mistake of accepting such treatment that had driven her to taking such desperate measures. not that she was complaining. she was happy with this arrangement, she swore! alma could've had plenty of faults, but she was the only one who'd managed to give charlie what she so desperately needed. so even if there was some hesitance, even if charlie had a million doubts, she would never dare to display any sort of negativity towards alma. she owed her her life. "a team." she repeated, nodding. alma was a woman of many talents, one of them being finding the right thing to say, and using the precise tone needed to keep charlie's FRAYED nerves at bay. "is there um, something in particular i should watch out for? or any instructions i should follow?"
