there's a staggering divide between trans women and the rest of the lgbt community that no one else wants to acknowledge. y'all act like allies to trans women until we ask you to listen to us about literally any issue that affects us and then it's crickets.
you won't believe us about who is and isn't a transmisogynist, you'll make excuses for any cis person under the sun about how they've gotten better and they totally don't hate us, and you continue to throw the term terf around even in situations where it doesn't apply, but you won't even listen to us about what terfs actually do.
and yes, this includes the old lie that "only terfs consider queer to be a slur." that's just flat out not true and it's one of my pet peeves. i can't speak for all countries, but at least in certain (large) areas of the us (and most of the people i see this problem with are americans too) if you grew up lgbt, queer was used to bully and demean you same as f*g or tr*nny.
no one's trying to stop you from identifying as queer yourself, but it's basic, kindergarten-level manners to not call someone names they don't like to be called. if you insist on calling someone else a word that's used to hurt them, then sorry to break it to you, but you're just another bully.
here's a newsflash: just because you use our correct pronouns and aren't a terf yourself doesn't mean you actually respect us. the first step to respecting someone is to listen but y'all failed step one. and I'm not just talking about cis people - this is an incredibly common problem with transmascs on this site too. it's painfully obvious when you simply ignore what trans women are saying. y'all aren't exempt.
look at your views and where they come from. look at who you are and aren't believing about issues that affect them. i'm really not asking for a lot here. listening won't hurt you. but not listening might hurt us.
