Tagged by @theageofsims - thank you! I always like an excuse to rant and tag games are great :3 Since you answered for most of the sims games, I'll do the same for some of the questions to (bonus rants)
What are your favorite Sims Packs?
Sims2: Young Nooblet LOVED nightlife. There's that one large premade mansion in downtown that I would ALWAYS have my sims live in and vampires were my VIBE. I don't know about current Nooblet though so I'll just stick with this for nostalgia reasons
Sims3: Younger Nooblet would also probably give the exact same answer and say nightlife, living in the city with vampires lmao. Can you tell I had an aesthetic? Current Nooblet would probably say world adventures because I always have so much fun doing the lore in that and going back and forth between the regions doing dungeons.
Sims4: Ehh none of the sims4 packs actually make me go WOW I love this. Possibly in 10 years or so I'll be able to say younger nooblet really liked X pack. For now I think I'd have to lock in Strangerville, I love the world and the storyline is kind of fun. Also really enjoy the creepy people walking around lmfao. City livings festivals get an honorable mention I suppose.
How long have you been playing sims?
In theory my first taste of the sims was in kindergarten when I was visiting a friend and we played on her brothers computer. In practice I got my first pack in 2006 when Pizza Hut had a promo where you could get one of a couple games with a certain meal combo. I bothered my dad until we got it. Bonus I even found a picture of the add online!
What made you want to create a simblr?
I was posting Sims videos on YouTube and was like wow maybe I should post stuff on tumblr to. So I made an account and started posting pictures of the Peanut Family.
What is your favorite Sim age?
Teen! I know this sounds a little weird but it feels kind of like the start of a new story when playing with teens. It's usually when I have legacy heirs take over or the sim really fleshes out. Theres also still a lot of fun kind of gameplay to do before they get a job like throwing slumber parties, sneaking out of the house, clubs etc etc. With high school years, even completely ignoring the active school having sims be able to graduate early or drop out I find really shapes a sims personality.
Do you use cheats when you play Sims?
ALL THE TIME but it varies from save to save. For larger households I often just max needs and disable needs decay and just do whatever. Money cheats not very often unless I'm setting up a story? As for challenge saves, pretty much never unless it calls for setting the money to zero.
What is your favorite thing about the Sims?
Relaxing time, socially acceptable barbies. Ngl ya girl played with her bratz dolls as a child WAY later than socially acceptable lmfao. I blame the fact I had lots of younger kids around me and I was often in charge of keeping an eye on them so playing with toys was one way.
What is your least favorite thing about the Sims?
KITS, going to die on this hill but I honestly think that kits ruined the sims4. So many of the items look like assets pulled out of expansion packs or at least concepts from expansion packs. They come out so often its disgusting.
Do you like to play the Sims in the morning or at night?
Whenever the brain gets itchy and wants to play the sims. I have no control over what the brain wants to do
Do you have an aesthetic for your Sims?
Kind of? Colourful, cute, fantasy vibes is my usual style. Even my regular ol basic sims dress very colourful.
What is your favorite Sim Career?
Sims3 doctor career is cool af, I really like that they are on call. I still vividly remember finding out what on call meant when I was younger. My sims had just been robbed and his pregnant wife and child were freaking tf out about a burglar and buddy had to go into work at like 12am. Then he got home exhausted and had to go BACK INTO WORK at like 7am. I know in theory the wife didn't actually get mad but she went into labor that day while he was at work. Pretty sure I had her start an affair after that experience because she was over him working all the damned time.
As for Sims4, active career would have to be science, however I really enjoy any of the work from home careers. These are always fun and I like how if you don't want to do the mini game or whatever they have planned you can just send them to rabbithole work for the day.
What is your favorite Sim World?
Sims2: as mentioned before, downtown babyyy
Sims3: Lucky palms, I know its a storeworld but man I love desert towns lmfao
Sims4: Strangerville probably, the sunsets here are really pretty and its a desert. Windenburg I think gets an honorable mention as I think EA peaked with community lots here, the bluffs, maze and that run down castle are great.
Do you prefer small or large Sim houses?
Small because its easier to play. Large is good too and usually what I end up with because my sims often have far too many babies.
Do you prefer more modern or traditional Sim houses / Do you prefer to build modern or traditional Sims houses?
I'm a traditional house girlie all the way, I LOVE the way I look. However.... over the past few years modern has grown on me. Not for the aesthetic but because of the power of boxes. Hear me out your living in a beautiful victorian era manor and opps need another room, what can you do without TOTALLY rebuilding or making huge changes to the exterior. Then consider a modern house, you need another room? Just add another ugly af random ass box room that fits with your floor plan, does the exterior look ugly? Probably but thats modern, its ART baby.
What is your favorite Sims Challenge?
Can I be really basic and say run away teen and 100baby?
What Sim emotion would you most often be?
I'm not even going to elaborate lmfao
What is your favorite skill to level up?
Martial arts from sims3? I like watching the animations hahaha. In all seriousness though I really don't have a skill that I'm like UGH I hate it in any of the sims games, I love a good skill to level especially if it comes with goals or aspirations.
Who are your favorite Sims?:
I like all my children equally. I did really enjoy Bug and Sunny this year though.
What kind of computer do you play Sims on?
Do you use Mods in your game?
A few! Mostly defaults and then a couple extra like recolours for base game stuff to make them more colourful like berry sim stuff. Pretty much never any furniture and very occasionally clothes or clothes recolours. Oh and mods for pointy ears >:D
How many hours of Sims do you think you have played?
Between all of the sims games over my life?? Possibly like 10 thousand hours, four alone is at 4000ish but most of my sims3 hours were in offline mode and sims2 who even really knows.
What are you planning to do next in the Sims?
Well I've actually uninstalled the sims4 so no goals for that. Thinking of reinstalling the sims3 and either trying to make Bug and Tree in the Sims3 OR just a new set of sims and doing world adventures. However this is just a PLAN not set in stone, I'm pretty busy with Nikki and Vintage Story.
Tagging anyone who has many words to say as well! I normally like to tag individual people but since I'm doing this a few days after been tagged I feel a little late to the party haha
