If you are a person like me and have a certain need for alkaline batteries to operate your game system controllers etc and sometimes get full and empty batteries mixed up, you should know about this little trick.
Grab a battery, let it drop onto one of its poles from a few cm up on a hard surface.
If it bounces of it's empty, if it does not bounce it's full.
I am not an engineer so I wouldn't know how it works, but its a relatively sure way to determine the life of a battery.
Comes in very handy.
