Michael Mouse was mischievous in his youth. He had always longed for something more in life and sought to make a change. His heart and dedication garnered the attention of a powerful sorcerer, Merlin. The great wizard had watched Mickey from the shadows for years. He believed that Mickey could be a great successor and one day ruler. Under Merlin, Mickey learned the arts of the keyblades and sorcery. During this time, he would meet his two best friends: Donald Duck and Gavin Goof. Together, the three of them forged a lifelong bond. The two of them were the closest thing Mickey had to a genuine family at the time. Eventually, Mickey had completed his apprenticeship. While there was still that glint of mischief in his eye, Mickey matured into a fine young man. He married Minnie, and the two set off to create of world of their own. They dedicated their lives to fighting the darkness that dared to snuff out the light. It was in these battles that the vision of Elias came to be. In this city, Mickey would be able to protect goodness from evil. Mickey created a magical barrier around Elias. He built the Academy and University to teach young aspiring creatives to follow their dreams. The best in medicine, science, magic, art, you name it, Mickey made it happen. For years, he has done his best to help the city and those who inhabit it thrive. However, Mickey Mouse soon became something of a legend. It was rare to see the mayor out and about. Minnie was the one the citizens saw. Mickey was the man behind the curtain. Who was he? What did he do? And did he have the capability to keep them safe?  Those questions were soon answered when the peace Mickey envisioned was disrupted by Maleficent, the mistress of evil. Merlin had warned Mickey of her and other villains across the land. Mickey had believed that the barrier he had created was enough to hide everyone from her, but she was too strong. In a state of desperation, Mickey did all he could to get the upper hand. He begged, bargained, and did unthinkable things he never thought he would do. If he were to keep his promise to Merlin, his wife, and Elias, Mickey planned to eradicate the darkness and all who aligned with it. In his eyes, it was the only way to save the Elias. When it came to the ideals of light and darkness, perhaps Mickey and Maleficent weren’t that different after all.  His failure to see that was his ultimate undoing.  Maleficent attacked Elias. The great war began, and Mickey had no solutions to offer. He watched as the city he created crumbled. Citizens who never asked to become soldiers fighting for a city they called home. When Elias needed its king most, Mickey was nowhere to be found. As the dust settled and Elias lay in ruin, it was Minnie who delivered the news to Mickey of Maleficent’s defeat. The city was free, but Mickey had lost everything. Minnie and Merlin both agreed that Mickey was to be banished for his part in the downfall of Elias. Minnie loved Mickey, but she could no longer stand beside him and asked for a divorce. And Merlin stripped Mickey of his power for good. If he couldn’t use them wisely, he wasn’t to have them at all. These were all blows to Mickey, but he understood. He had failed this beloved city he had created. The punishments fit the crimes.  The only people who know the truth of Mickey’s banishment are Minnie, Merlin, Donald, and Gavin. The rest of the town was left to wonder what happened to Mickey Mouse. The man, the myth, the legend. Some say they see a man in a white cloak lurking beyond where the barrier once lay, some say they can hear him whisper in the wind, some believe there never truly was a Mickey Mouse and he was all a facade, and others hope he died right alongside Maleficent.  Wherever Mickey Mouse was, his hopes to defeat the darkness were far from over.

Hades was shoved down to be lord of the Underworld. His days were an endless loop of screams from the damned and darkness. Hades always believed he was destined for something more. He was handed the short stick with the gods and intended to claim what was rightfully his - Olympus.  The plan was meticulously crafted, down to when the planets aligned. What Hades hadn't anticipated was his nephew unraveling his plans. The sunspot was the next king of Olympus, and Hades, this simply wouldn't do. The god instructed his henchmen, Pain and Panic, to get rid of Hercules, turn the child mortal, and kill him. For years, he believed his little problem to be solved until a great hero on the rise made himself known.  Hades couldn’t allow Hercules to take what was rightfully his. Just himself, he wasn’t strong enough for his glorious purpose, but with the help of someone else, he could get exactly what he wanted. Maleficent offered him more than just Olympus; she offered him a seat at her table of darkness. Hades could be king if he helped her take over Elias. Hades couldn’t refuse.  Their plans seemed foolproof, but the bugs of Elias were more determined to save their home than they anticipated. When it came down to it, Hades would protect himself no matter the cost. The rest of the sinister six perished, but Hades was left standing. The city was vulnerable in a way it had never been before. People were desperate for salvation, hope, anything. Hades knew it was the perfect time to strike. If he was going to be expected to rule under something, he might as well make it something he created rather than thrust upon him by his brothers. The misfits of Elias were cast out, but Hades gave them their sanctuary to call home: The Underland, a home for those who bore no light in their heart. Where the dark and wicked could thrive; it was a villain's playground. Hades was finally king. He created the hell-barons: a loose coalition of landlords, crime bosses, and corporate tycoons to help be Hades’ eyes in the Underland and keep it under control, but a seat at Hades’ table always came with a price. His colleagues paid with their souls. In the last year, The Underland has truly become a threat to new Elias. Hades no longer needs to take over Elias. He’s created something far more powerful and he knows that the council is aware of this. It’s why Hades has begun to build a wall separating the two cities. He will keep the people who chose this land trapped and keep the pesky renegades and, anyone else from Elias who tries to save his people, out. He will be king of this land. If they want to take it from him, they will have to pry it out of his cold dead hands.

A young apprentice of Merlin, the man had caught her attention. He certainly wasn’t a prince, but he had the heart of one. Mickey wanted to protect people, and Minnie held the same sentiments. They fell in love easily. Eventually, the two married and became king and queen of the light. Mickey always had big plans, and Minnie was the first to support them. The idea of a utopia where they could protect the light seemed like a wonderful idea. Their reach would be easier than being in a far-off kingdom. In Elias, they would be able to help more people. Minnie took her role within the city seriously. She was in the community every opportunity she got. She loved giving back and lending a helping hand where she could. Minnie loved Elias with every fiber of her being. It was hard to sit and watch Mickey hide himself away from a city he was meant to protect. The answer was always the same; it was easier for him to do work in his office. The people didn’t need to see him to believe him. He was doing his job of protecting the city. Minnie believed him wholeheartedly. Why wouldn’t she? Mickey had never given her a reason to doubt. When whispers of Maleficent came about, Minnie believed that Mickey, Donald, and Goofy would be able to protect the light just as they always had. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case this time. When his staff was stolen, Minnie stood beside him. Minnie stood beside him when dangerous artifacts were stolen from his personal archives. Minnie's faith wavered as monsters and war waged on her beloved city. As Mickey hid, the city was being ripped apart. Minnie could no longer sit and watch as her husband did nothing. Minnie sought out the help of Merlin. Surely, there was something the great wizard could do to stop Maleficent. By the time she sought his help, it was too late. The city would have been shrouded in darkness had it not been for the brave citizens of Elias. It was Minnie who watched the light leave Maleficent’s eyes. Before she succumbed to her wounds, the mistress of Evil asked the queen to make sure her son was safe in the care of Howl Pendragon. As much as Minnie wanted to deny the request, her kind heart begged to do this one nice thing. So, she honored the request. A new fire was set in Minnie. With the aid of Merlin, the two of them tracked Mickey down. As much as Minnie loved Mickey, she could no longer travel down the path he had chosen. She exiled Mickey from Elias. As well as divorce him. It would be better if they parted. The damage that was done was irreversible. Elias was broken, but Minnie took it upon herself to rebuild it. Not one person should be in charge or have so much power, so she created the council. She sought the aid of the best candidates who would help Elias. Together, they would bring back Elias better than ever. Minnie knows that people are weary, that trust is not so easily given after being failed, but Minnie will do what she has to in order to keep Elias safe. She promises to keep her people safe and stands by that oath. She won’t fail them the way Mickey had.

There has been an age-old question that has been tossed around Elias: Are people born wicked or do they have wickedness thrust upon them? For someone like Maleficent, the answer seemed obvious. Surely the mistress of evil was born with wicked intent in her heart, but the truth is not so black and white. Maleficent was born in an enchanted forest kingdom known as the moors, bordering the human kingdom of the Edouard’s. At a young age, her parents were killed by humans, leaving her as an orphan. She was told the evils of the human world. However, Maleficent, being the curious child she was, wanted to form her own opinion of humans. She was befriended by the young prince Stefan. The two became close but Stefan’s intentions were never pure. The truth was that his mother had been killed in the enchanted forest. The king feared what lay in the woods and wanted them destroyed, thus making his son do his dirty work to find the woods and rid them of all magical beings. The way to their downfall was through Maleficent. Stefan had broken Maleficent’s trust; to make matters worse, he stole her wings. The enchanted forest had been demolished. Only a few creatures remained, but the majority were extinct. That day, something ugly rose in Maleficent. Her belief in love, humanity, kindness, and anything good vanished. She knew exactly who to blame for her undoing and loss of her home. She was going to make everyone pay. Maleficent hid in the shadows for years, plotting and seething. She only returned to curse Stefan and Leah’s baby at her christening. Stefan stole what was special from her, so she would do the same. She was going to make sure Stefan felt the same excruciating pain he caused her all those years ago. As Aurora was raised in secrecy, Maleficent’s plans shifted. If they wanted to make her a villain, then a villain is exactly what they were going to get. For too long, humans have destroyed. They were pests that needed to be taken care of. Maleficent knew that the king of light, the powerful sorcerer, Michael Mouse, was her key to achieving what she wanted.  Elias held powerful magic. Her darkness was going to snuff out the light and create a new world. She formed the sinister six, promising them all their heart's desire. She never meant to keep her word in the end, she simply needed the resources. Together, they brought Elias to their knees. Darkness would have won the Great War had it not been for the resilience of the people in Elias. After being wounded by Prince Philip, Maleficent came face to face with the child of her greatest enemy. She told Aurora the truth. The princess offered her kindness, but it was too late for that. Maleficent wasn’t going to give Aurora the forgiveness she craved.  Eventually, Malfiecent succumbed to her wounds. In her last few moments, her dying wish had been given to Queen Minnie, she asked that the woman give her son, Kieran, whom she shared with Hades, to Howl Pendragon. She couldn’t give her son the world she promised, but with Howl, she knew he would be safe. The world had been cruel to Maleficent. Had it given her the kindness she deserved, perhaps all the bloodshed could have been prevented. It was a tragedy that it took death for people to realize that Maleficent was not the monster history would paint her to be. No one mourns the wicked, but few mourn what Maleficent could have been had things been different.
