I've found it hard to come by blogs and non-book reading material related to pregnancy and childbirth that doesn't make me deeply upset and angry.

(That tells you more about me than what's out there, but maybe there are lots of people like me out there!)

So, here are a few things that I'm currently reading and like:

Motherlode - The NYTimes parenting blog has a mix of essays, op-ed and original reporting.

Grounded Parents and @groundedparents- a recent addition to the Skepchick blog (December 2013)

AlphaMom Pregnancy Calendar - Recommended by Laura. I started referring to this after I got fed up with the Mayo Clinic "list of horrible physical ailments you might experience this week" style of presentation. At least have a sense of humor about it if I am going to have to read about GI tract issues every week! The blog is only somewhat useful to me.

No Idea What I'm Doing: A Daddy Blog - a blog from an Oregon dad  about what life is like as a husband and father. I mostly like this for the writing style and enjoy the stories. Found this via Motherlode.

I'll add more as I find them.

The problem with most of the online magazines and blogs I've found -- and even parenting columns in newspapers like the Oregonian -- is that they are infrequently updated, full of advertising or full of nonsense.
