Sometimes being afab in the trans community really stings
I am frequently the target of transphobia in my community, been seen as a predator for using the bathroom because I dont neatly fit into the gender binary.
I was sexually assaulted at my school by another student (explicitly because I told him I was trans and he thought I was lying so he grabbed my genitals to check) and the boy got off Scott free because he "didn't know about trans people"
I often feel that I am discriminated against for existing in a female body and also for expressing my gender fluidity in that female body
And then when I try to share this I get talked over and told that actually because I am afab I'm privileged.
A lot of the time it feels like I'm being ignored by the community that's supposed to have my back
And some trans women use their transfem status to say "um, I actually think that your not really oppressed and if you disagree with me than your talking over a trans woman"
Like, imagine if I were in an argument with a cis woman about feminism and she described her experiences of misogyny and being attacked for her sex and I said "um actually because your cis you are privileged and don't experience the same level of oppression I do"
And then if she tried to argue with me I said "hey! you are talking over a trans person! How could you!"
Can we agree that would be shitty?
So why can't we agree that the first example is shitty?
