No one realizes Anubis is somewhat nonbinary. Everyone he/hims it, but…1: it’s referred to with “it/its” on the wiki and by other characters. This could be because it’s a sword though, which leads us to exhibit 2: Anubis itself doesn’t use gendered personal pronouns in japanese! It seems to only refer to itself as “Anubis-shin” which is literally “God Anubis” or “Divine Anubis”. We can surmise it doesn’t consider itself to have a gender identity, everyone just uses he/him for it because it’s masc :(.
