A tool for freelancers that can save you tons of money
Let’s face it one of the worst things about freelancing is the payment process. Not only transfer fees are exorbitant and almost fraudulent, but it can be pretty tricky if you are receiving payments in foreign currencies.
Banks in some countries do not accept transfer in all currencies, which might leave you victim of the exchange rate of PayPal (or other platforms) that is much less than what you should be receiving. So with this, to put it mildly you are loosing money.
So after months of looking I found Tranferwise. Transferwise is a pretty nifty platform that allows international bank transfer, currency exchange, and to receive payments with minimum fees.
Transferwise also has a MCA, that is a Multi-Currency Account, with which you can transfer money almost anywhere in the world Nationally. This is because this account gives you a local bank number to allow this transfer without having to pay the expensive Swift or Western Union fees.
Say you are working as a writer with a publisher in New Zealand. You will get an account with New Zealand bank information so your employer can transfer directly there, avoiding international transfer fees. You also can convert to your local currency at a rate that is actually not a scam an deposit it to you local bank account. You avoid PayPal fees and currency exchange commissions.
I have started using this and it’s great. I use it to receive money from my various freelance projects around the world and transfer it to my local bank account.
I used to use PayPal but with the increasing fees it was getting more and more expensive and I was actually getting less and less money on my paycheck.
I added the link for you to check it out here
Registering is free and maintenance of the account is also free, so check it, try it, and give me feedback! I would love to know how you found it.

Wakhi nomad man with his gun inside his yurt, Big pamir, Wakhan, Badakhshan, Afghanistan. Taken on August 12, 2016
In the morning, in the big Pamir mountains, 4500 m high Afghanistan. The chief of the village takes its old gun and will go out for the whole day with 100 sheeps and his dogs to find the best grass. He never leaves without his gun as wolves are around he told me.Like every morning, he drunk a mix of salted yak milk and bread, the same thing he will eat for lunch and for diner.Sleeping in the yurt is a nice experience until 4 in the morning when the wakhi women enter the place to burn yak dungs and prepare the bread. It makes more smoke than heat...
