The reason he felt unusual, apart from the abusive drugging and crushing he now endured the effects of, putting aside the obvious, the reason he was now feeling unusual was because he was a nomad. He had been nomadic for over ten years of his lifetime. When he recently decided to return to familiar surroundings and renter society he chose to again live in a fixed community setting. But he was still a nomad with nomadic tendencies. The difference was that he was now a nomad being asked to sit in one place and do one place things. He had cut his ties with communities and community living over twenty years ago and now that he was back once again living indoors he no longer felt affiliated to what community living is. He wanted to move away from the abuse. To be in a safe place not a sedated one. He wanted to experience living in other places, with other people. He wanted to wake in the morning and walk in any direction he felt compelled towards. To move towards an unknown destination that he had no name for. This choice of indoor living was no longer who he was. It didn't represent his nature. Nomadic living had changed him. He had managed to recognise this about himself.
