@nomadcaptain The knock to the door was muffled, ineffective, due to the fact that her lap was quite full of things she’d prefer not to spill: a drink carrier with two drinks nestled inside, a box full of various pastries that she’d purchased before her drive into the Mousehole, all precariously balanced and still being held in place with one hand. She was glad she still had her laptop safely packed into the backpack hanging from the back of her chair rather than in its usual position in her lap; the lattes were a little too off balance for her to risk ruining her Tuesday.  “Open up, Cap.” Barbara was fairly certain he’d be in the office he shared with Diana, had made her way through the Mousehole to track him down (when really, it might had been easier to ask him to come to her).  “I brought breakfast.” 

@nomadcaptain “Okay listen. This time it was an accident.”  Barbara’s last threat of just what she would do if Stephanie lost or break another comm link was still loud and clear in Stephanie’s head. Mostly loud and clear. Something about a microchip to keep track of her that way instead, and honestly Stephanie hadn’t been able to tell if she was kidding or not ....which was a little concerning, considering the broken link she had in a hand behind her back. With a cupcake, an apology cupcake because she was hoping that she might not be killed or chipped on the spot when she was offering a snack. Preemptive planning. “I fell out a window and the link fell out on the way down and I may or may not have landed on it. Could’ve been much worse, y’know? It could be me broken and not the link so I think we should really focus on the positives here. And I made cupcakes -- wait, you’re not Babs.” That was clear. Oracle’s desk was empty at the center of the library’s labyrinth, meaning that Barbara was either elsewhere in the Mousehole or at her apartment. But it would seem that Stephanie wasn’t the only one that had come looking for her, and she offered a sheepish smile. “Hey Cap,” she began, setting that broken link on Barbara’s desk. Perfect, leave and dash. “...You can have the cupcake if you don’t tell Babs I broke my comm.”

@nomadcaptain Captain America, Steve Rogers. The beard had thrown him off a little, RJ had to give him that: it had taken him a second to register just where and how the face was familiar, though once it clicked RJ was on it. He kept an appropriately subtle distance between the two, busying himself (or, well, appearing to) at the stalls of the market as he kept his eyes on good ol’ Cap and waited for the opportunity to swoop on in.  RJ’s placement in Sokovia was a test run, really; his handlers were giving the kid a little more freedom, allowing him to explore and expecting him to continue to follow orders while doing so. The ISA base was small enough that he wouldn’t draw much attention (well, until they wanted him to, but that was another story) so it was really a great place to give him some freedoms and see how he operated in social situations, not just in the field. He certainly hadn’t expected to get eyes on Captain America by any means, but well he was sure his handler would be pleasantly surprised. “Hey--!” The smile he offered was easy, almost lazy, bright and boyish, as he approached from the side. “I think I’ve got myself turned around, and I’ll admit my Sokovian isn’t the best.” A lie, he was fluent through and through, but that was neither here nor there. “I’m staying at one of the hostels and I’m having a hard time figuring out which way to go from here. Do you have a second, and hopefully some better directional sense than me?”
